Installation

Please read this guide very carefully! Rushing through your setup can cause many complications from mistakes that are made. Take your time!

So you've purchased your very own Clockwork schema. You're itching to get it running on a server so you can have a good time roleplaying with your buddies. But what happens if you have no idea how to set it up? Don't you worry, that's what this guide is here for. Before you continue, make sure you have the Clockwork framework and your purchased schema downloaded from the CloudSixteen Store. You'll also need a working Garry's Mod server - hosted yourself or rented from a gameserver provider, (Nitrous Networks, NFO Servers, Xenon Servers) . Now, without further adieu, let's get started.

Framework Installation

Due to Garry's Mod Updating, the orangebox folder no longer exists and the root folder contains garrysmod We'll need to install the framework first, since all schemas are dependent on it.

- Download Clockwork from the store
- Open up Clockwork.zip with your favourite archiving software.
- Extract the contents of the zip file into a new folder on your desktop or somewhere that you have easy access to.
- (This guide assumes you have brought a game server from a hosting company; If you have enough money to buy a dedicated server, you should know what your doing) Open your favourite FTP software and login to your gameserver, upload the clockwork files to your gameserver's root directory.
- To fill in /gamemodes/clockwork/clockwork.cfg refer to the mysql guide

When you're done, the folder structure for your server's root folder should look similar to the image provided below.

Go to your root directory and you should see a libmysql.dll file there
Go to your garry's mod gamemodes directory and you should see a clockwork folder there
Go to your garry's mod lua folder, then open the bin folder and you should see gmsv_cloudauthx_win32.dll and gmsv_tmysql4_win32.dll files. If you do not see these, re-read the steps above.

If you are still unable to get the file uploaded, If you are using a gameserver provide; use their gamecp, most likely TCAdmin to upload the .dll file to the correct folder. Some host's don't allow uploading of .dll files (For example, Xenon Servers). If you host doesn't allow this, open a support ticket with them linking/uploading the file and tell them where it needs to go. (/garrysmod/lua/bin for the cloudauthx.dll & the root for the libmysql.dll)

NOTE: If you're using a gameserver provider, you may not have access to go to the root folder, or you might not be allowed to upload binary files - such as .dll files. If this is the case, set up a support ticket with your provider asking to put the required .dll files in the correct folders. Provide them a zip file with the binaries and specify the exact folder path that they go in to. This process may vary between different gameserver providers, so make sure you know of their policies before you continue!

Schema Installation

After you've made sure that the framework is installed correctly, you can now start the installation of the schema you've purchased. The installation process is quite similar to that of the framework.

- Download your schema from the store
- Open up cw*schemaname*.zip with your favourite archiving software.
- Extract the contents of the zip file into a new folder on your desktop or somewhere that you have easy access to.
- (This guide assumes you have brought a game server from a hosting company; If you have enough money to buy a dedicated server, you should know what your doing) Open your favourite FTP software and login to your gameserver, upload the schema files to your gameserver's garry's mod directory directory. The garry's mod directory includes folders like addons, maps, cfg, gamemodes. If a prompt shows up asking you whether or not to replace files, tell it to do so.
- Navigate to garrysmod/gamemodes/<schema>; where <schema> is the name of your schema. For example, cwSeverance or cwhl2rp.
- Open up serial.cfg and paste in your serial which can be accessed in the downloads section of the store.

Once you are complete, you'll need to set up your server so it starts up using the schema. You'll need to edit the command line startup of the server. This varies between hosts and whether or not you're hosting the server yourself.

You'll have to add +gamemode <schema>; replacing <schema> with what the name of the schema folder is in lowercase. If you do not enter the folder name in lowercase, your server will not launch properly!

An example of this would be cwcider or cwnewvegas.

The last step is to configure Clockwork to connect to your database. A guide is available for this step in the section below.

If you have any problems with installing the framework or schema, please set up a support ticket at our store. Make sure you've read over this guide, first!
